Data minimization by design

DecideMyMeal has no user accounts and no server-side database of personal information. The features that "remember" things about you — favorites, recently viewed meals, saved filters — run entirely in your browser's localStorage and are never transmitted to us. This is intentional: we can't misuse data we never receive.

Legal basis for any processing

Where optional analytics or advertising scripts are enabled (see our Cookie Policy), those third parties may process limited data such as IP address and browsing behavior under a legal basis of consent, which you grant or decline via our cookie banner.

Your rights under GDPR

As a user in the European Economic Area, you generally have the right to the following. Because DecideMyMeal doesn't hold personal data on our servers, most of these are naturally already satisfied — there's simply nothing on our end to act on.

Right to access

You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. We hold none server-side; anything "remembered" lives only in your own browser's local storage, which you already have full access to.

Right to deletion

You may request deletion of your personal data. Again, there is nothing on our servers to delete. To clear locally-stored data yourself, clear your browser's site data for decidemymeal.xyz, or use a private/incognito window going forward.

Right to portability

You may request your data in a portable format. Since your preferences already live entirely in your own browser, you effectively already have full, immediate access — no export request needed.

Right to correction

You may request correction of inaccurate personal data. As above, there's no server-side record for us to correct. If a meal's nutrition estimate or content looks wrong, that's a content-accuracy report, not a personal-data correction — please use our Contact page for that instead.

You also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. For data processed by third-party analytics or advertising providers once you've consented, you can exercise these rights directly through that provider, or revoke consent at any time via our cookie banner.

Browser storage

Favorites, recently viewed meals, hidden meals, and saved filters are stored using your browser's localStorage API, not cookies and not a server-side database. This data never transmits to us. See ourPrivacy Policy for the full list of what's stored locally.

Cookie consent

Optional analytics and advertising integrations are gated behind our cookie consent banner, which lets you Accept All, Reject All, or Customize consent per category (Analytics, Advertising). See ourCookie Policy for the full breakdown.

Data transfers

Any third-party services we use (analytics, advertising) may process data outside the EEA, subject to their own compliance mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
